چکیده

We used the bacterial test on the cells called Arthrobacter globiformis in order to detect the level of toxins in the sediment of the Lake Skadar. We kept an eye on the influence of the sediments on the activity of the whole of bacterial dehydrogenase (DNA) by the process of the reduction of the oxidoreduction color of the resasurine into the resofurine. We used the organic fraction of the sediments (the extracts of sediments) in combination with the native sediments. The sediments of the lake indicated lower or higher level of the toxin depending on the locality and the presence of certain substances that have toxic effects which are biologically easily accessible to the living organisms. The highest level of toxins indicated the sediments of Radus and the sediments of the estuary of the river Moraca into both of the systems.

Isolation and characterization of a bacteriophage of Arthrobacter globiformis.

A bacteriophage which reproduces on Arthrobacter globiformis ATCC 8010 was isolated from soil. This bacteriophage, designated phiAG8010, propagates either in soft agar or broth cultures of the host. Because of a slow adsorption rate, neither the latent period nor burst size was determined. The mature virion belongs to Bradley's group B and exhibits a hexagonal head measuring 69 nm (length) by 6...

Arthrobacter nitrophenolicus sp. nov. a new 2-chloro-4-nitrophenol degrading bacterium isolated from contaminated soil

Strain SJConT, a 2-chloro-4-nitrophenol (2C4NP) degrading bacterium, was isolated from soil collected from a pesticide-contaminated site in Punjab, India. The strain, which stained Gram positive, displayed a rod-coccus life cycle, and possessed a type A3α peptidoglycan (L-Lys-L-Ala3), MK-9(H2) as the major menaquinone, anteiso-C15 and iso-C15:0 as the major cellular fatty acids, and diphosphati...

Cyclic tetrasaccharide-synthesizing enzymes from Arthrobacter globiformis A19.

A bacterial strain Arthrobacter globiformis A19 producing cyclic tetrasaccharide (CTS) was isolated from soil. The enzymes, 6-alpha-glucosyltransferase (6GT) and 3-alpha-isomaltosyltransferase (IMT), involved in the synthesis of CTS were purified to homogeneity. The molecular and enzymatic properties of IMT from A. globiformis were similar to those of enzymes from Bacillus globisporus C11 and N...

Survey of indicator toxicity of Isfahan south of wastewater treatment plant by using of daphnia magna

Introduction: Bioassay is necessary for assessment of pollution. Because physical and chemical taste are not enough for assessment of potential effects on water ecosystem. Bioassay tests have alot of scientific value inanition doing of them is easy and need less time, also need less space, laboratory equipment’s and expenditure. Therefor such tests have found special attention in water pollutio...
